Chain lubricant

There are several different types of lubricants for chains depending on the type of chain, load and environment. The most common are mineral oil-based chain oils and grease with and without solid lubricants. For higher temperatures and harsh environments there are PAO and Ester-based synthetics, as well as for the most extreme applications PFPE (perfluorinated polyether) based.
