SMP polymers

So-called MS and SMP polymers provide flexible adhesives that have largely replaced flexible polyurethane adhesives. The main reason for this is that they do not contain any isocyanates and are thus more environmentally friendly. MS polymers combine many of the good properties of polyurethane adhesives and silicone adhesives without containing either silicone or isocyanates. The strength values and temperature resistance of MS polymers are close to that of polyurethane elastomers. Most MS polymer adhesives are moisture-curing, but this type of adhesive is now also available as a 2-component system, i.e. it cures without the need for moisture from the air or the material.
