Hot Melt Adhesives
Hot melt adhesives can be divided into two types, thermoplastic hot melt adhesives and curing hot melt adhesives. One of the advantages of hot melt adhesives is that they set quickly. The rapid solidification is also a disadvantage. The glue can solidify before it has made proper contact with the substrate - especially on materials that conduct heat well. Hot-melt adhesives are mainly used in the wood industry (for edging of board material) and in the packaging industry where a short fixing time is desirable. There is also a wide range of hot melt glue guns for stick glue. (In recent years, silicone glue has also come as hot-melt glue).
